Prefab homes are making a comeback in Palm Springs, as discussed at MyDesert.com.
The city’s only prefabricated homes/structures date back to the 1960s.
Blue Sky Building Systems will be leading the charge to bring them back.
The area surrounding Ruth Hardy Park will be were the city’s newest prefab houses will be situated.
Donald Wexler was the last architect to design steel, prefabricated buildings in the city.
He did so while working for the Alexander Construction Company in the 1960s.
This time around, Blue Sky Building Systems, will be doing the honors.
They will be using prefabricated steel technology, which is traditionally used for industrial buildings, to build residential dwellings.
