Cities build from modular, prefab homes, are springing up around the world.
One of the most oft cited, and discussed recently on the Switchboard NRDC.org blog, is London’s Container City.
It located at Trinity Buoy Wharf.
The work studios and lofts found there are made from sustainable, environmentally friendly structure, such as recycled shipping containers.
Noted for its scale and flexible design, the area is unique, creative and funky.
It’s not suitable for everyone but those for which it is, it is a great way to go-green, without settling for the boring and mundane.
Going green doesn’t have to mean boring and London’s Container City is proof positive of that.
The area showcases how to marry creative design and environmental responsibility.
