As discussed in the Ottowa Citizen, Princeton educated architect, Michelle Kaufman’s professional life was coming along quite nicely. She owned a thriving mod-housing business. The collapse of the U.S. housing market would soon change all of that. She was forced out of business and had to sale many of her designs to California-based, Blu Homes.
Kaufman got her start in the mod housing business out of necessity. She and her husband, a builder, were looking for a place that was green, uncluttered and affordable. They couldn’t find it, so they designed and created their own. That began her foray into the array of modular housing.
